Implementing partners

CBM works with partner organisations to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities in developing countries. Through local partner organisations, we are able to increase acceptance among the population enormously and develop sustainable concepts that continue to have an impact beyond the duration of the project.

At the local level

Here we work together with local groups, communities and non-governmental organisations and implement the projects with them. The local partners in the developing countries are very familiar with the local conditions, which makes the work easier and also the acceptance by the people. When implementing programs, our partners make sure that people with disabilities and their families can get involved.

However, our partners should not only implement the projects, but also influence their local and national governments to recognise the rights and concerns of persons with disabilities and take measures to implement them in practice.

When selecting local partners, we make sure that they work according to criteria that meet international standards in order to be able to guarantee high-quality, long-term and sustainable work. Through mutual exchange, we try to improve our work. An important aspect of working with local partners is also that they become self-sufficient in the long run.

At the national level

Our planning partners are primarily health departments and departments in ministries and disability organisations. Together with them, we want to create structures that improve, for example, medical care or the education of people with disabilities.
